Asbury Children

Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me..."

Matthew 19:14

At Asbury United Methodist Church, we believe in providing a loving, accepting, caring, and safe environment for children and their families to be centered in Jesus Christ as we connect to the presence of God, grow in our faith, celebrate community, and serve others with love.

In addition to our Sunday worship opportunities, we have events all throughout the school year: Cherub Choir and Rainbow Choir, family service projects, liturgical events like Easter and Advent, community events, Summer Family Camp and so much more!

With any questions, please fill out the form below or email Rachel. If you would like to receive the Children's Ministry newsletter, please contact the church office and let them know!

Sunday Mornings

Nursery (ages 0 - 4)

Our nursery is a place where children ages 0 to 3 learn about God through play in a loving and caring environment during our 10 a.m. worship service.

Our caring nursery staff are certified in CPR
and First Aid. We send a text message to notify a parent or guardian if staff determines it is necessary for the well-being
of the child.

Lower Elementary

Upper Elementary

Lower Elementary (TK - 2nd grade) begin their Sundays in the church Sanctuary with their families. They are welcome to come down in front to sit on carpet squares or in the front pews for the Children's Moment to hear a message and say a prayer during worship.

After the Children's Moment, the children are welcome to rejoin their adults in the pews or go to Sunday School. If going to Sunday School, teachers will meet the children  at the back of the sanctuary to walk together to Room 6. In Sunday School students will read a story, share a snack, and participate in age appropriate activities, and free play time. After worship service students can be picked up and signed out from their classroom.
Upper Elementary Children (3rd - 6th grade) begin their Sundays in the church Sanctuary with their families. They are welcome to come down in front to sit on carpet squares or in the front pews for the Children's Moment to hear a message and say a prayer during worship.

After the Children's Moment, the children are welcome to rejoin their adults in the pews or go to Sunday School. If going to Sunday School, teachers will meet the children  at the back of the sanctuary to walk together to Room 4 located  in the classroom building. In Sunday School students will read a story, play games, do an activity, and pray together. After worship service students are released to go find their families in the courtyard or fellowship hall.
If you have an extra wiggly child, we have a comfort room with sound, a large window, a couch, and play items, in the back of the sanctuary you are welcome to use at anytime.

We also have activity baskets available for people of all ages to enjoy during service!
