Children's Ministry
"Anyone who welcomes one of these little children in my name welcomes me. And anyone who welcomes me doesn't welcome only me but also the One who sent me." Mark 9:37
At Asbury United Methodist Church, we believe in providing a safe, supportive environment for children, youth, and their families and those who work with them. Our goal is help our children grow strong in their faith while building lasting connections with God, each other and our world.

Special Events
Throughout the year, Asbury offers many fun, family events such as:
- Easter - Easter activities include the waving of the palms on Palm Sunday and a family Easter egg hunt and picnic the Saturday before Easter Sunday.
- Vacation Bible School - VBS is an exciting faith-filled week for ages 4 years old through 5th grade. It is traditionally held in late July, early August.
- Advent - Advent activities begin with the "Hanging of the Greens" followed by the Christmas Concert, and the Children's Christmas Pageant.
In addition to special events, we collect special designated offerings where our children can relate. This year we have given to Heifer Project, Open Heart Kitchen, Alameda County Food Bank, and UNICEF, just to name a few.
Volunteer Opportunities
We are please to be able to offer such a wide variety of activities for our children and their families, but we cannot do it without the help of our wonderful volunteers. Contact us on how you can help.
Children's Ministry Committee
Our committee meets once a month to discuss upcoming events, plan curriculum, and discuss how things are going in our program. We strive to give our children the direction they need to keep Christ in their hearts always.
